New EVs are arriving thick and fast. Here’s your guide to this year’s entrants

Whether you like them or not, electric cars are here for the foreseeable, and many drivers are turning to EVs thanks to improvements in range, efficiency and charging infrastructure. 
Last year saw a record number of electric car sales, with battery-electric models accounting for 19.6% of the 1.95 million vehicles sold in 2024 – a 16.5% increase from the previous year. 
Almost every manufacturer has an electric car as part of its model line-up – even lightweight performance brands like Alpine and Lotus now make EVs. Indeed, some firms have gone further than others, but many remain committed to going all-electric by the end of the decade.
