Earlier this week, a massive blaze broke out in an apartment building in Hong Kong. Per the BBC, the death toll has risen to 94, with more people missing. The raging fire took nearly two whole days to put out, as the materials used to construct the building were not fireproof.

Investigations are ongoing. Ahead of the scheduled MAMA Awards tonight, organisers have confirmed that the ceremony will proceed as planned, though its red carpet event is being cancelled. Per a Soompi report, a statement from the MAMA committee has also confirmed that a segment of the show will include a “support Hong Kong” message to “create a time to share in the sorrow and commemorate” the devastating incident. Additionally, the committee plans to “contribute our efforts through donations to support the victims” of the deadly blaze.
